I never really used to pay much attention to my makeup brushes. They were a necessary tool to apply makeup but I didn’t put a great deal of thought into using particular brushes to apply products or making sure I had good quality ones.

Well after getting a good set of Real Techniques brushes a few years ago I’m glad to say my attitude changed! Using the right brushes for the right products has really improved my application and I’m loving the results.

I got a set of Spectrum brushes for Christmas in the Burn Book from Mean Girls, one of my favourite films!

Not only are they pink, they’ve also got quotes from the movie on the handles and came with the cutest makeup bag and mini burn book mirror.

I’ve really noticed a difference in the way my makeup looks and the way good brushes pick up product. The Spectrum range is also vegan and they’ve just launched the cutest Mickey Mouse range after doing several Disney collaborations in the last few months.

I use Superdrug brush cleaner to keep my brushes in tip top shape and hygienic. I still love my beauty blender to apply foundation and blend concealer, but I’m definitely paying more attention to looking after my brushes!
