Ethereal Beauty

This months Lookfantastic box has an ethereal theme with inspiration from the outdoors, sunsets and the coming summer months. There are 6 products this month plus an extra so 7 things in total. I really love the Lookfantastic box as it’s usually focused on skincare and I really enjoy trying new products.

£15 for the May Lookfantastic box

First up we have a hydrating gel from Comfort Zone, this item replaced the sneak peek from last month which was meant to be an Espa product. It seems there was a supply issue as this will now be included in the June box. This cream has moringa oil to help with inflammation and clearer skin.

Mini size the full size of this product is £47 for 200ml

Next is a peeling mask from ECooking with lactic and glycolic acid to help with tightening and smoothing your skin. Not gonna lie I feel a bit freaked out that the first thing on there says “don’t panic if your skin turns red”! It doesn’t look like the type of mask I would use as I worry it would flare my psoriasis so I will probably pass this on.

Also this month we have a Dr Botanicals kiwi eye serum to support a reduction in the signs of ageing. I love trying different eye products and it’s an area of my skincare I’m really focused on especially keeping it hydrated. This is really lightweight and absorbed nicely so I can see this becoming a new favourite!

Full size £19.99

Next is a simple one but something I’ve talked about before on this blog, a Burts Bees lip balm. The lip balm is a staple product from Burts Bees and this one is cucumber and mint which smells amazing. I absolutely love their lip balms as they are so hydrating so I’m really pleased to have gotten one here.

Full size £4.99

A new one for me is this silicone bristle pad from the Vintage Cosmetics Company. This is designed to be used with your cleanser to help remove any dead skin cells. I used this and definitely felt a difference in the smoothness of my skin and this would be really handy if I were having a psoriasis flare up as it’s often difficult to find gentle face scrubs.

A 3 pack of these pads are £6.99

The last item included this month is Stress Check hand cream from This Works. A really nice formula with Shea butter and has a nice lavender scent and definitely something we all need with hand washing and sanitising being so important right now.

This is a mini size, the full size is £10 to purchase

An additional item included was a hand sanitiser from L’Oréal Paris which is specially formulated to dry within 30 seconds and also contains glycerin to combat the drying feeling you get from other hand gels. A nice little extra and again great for these times we find ourselves in as I know a handgel is always in my bag now.

Full size £2.69

I’m currently subscribed on a monthly basis and pay £15 inc postage and packaging for my box. My favourite products this month are definitely the Dr Botanicals serum and the Burts Bees balm, both nicely scented and really effective.

Blossom with Lookfantastic this April

April’s box from Lookfantastic is giving me major spring vibes with its floral blossom theme, I know florals for spring …. groundbreaking! In all seriousness I love the pink blossom theme it’s perfect for this time of year when things are starting to bloom and feels so appropriate as we move toward a new start and things beginning to open up following the most recent lockdowns.

There are 6 products in this months box and 5 of them are full size. First up we have this gorgeous pale pink cherry blossom coloured nail polish from Nails Inc. Nails Inc is always a winner for me as it’s hands down my go to polish as it’s easy to apply and long lasting . I find the brush in their polish is really good it seems to apply a full coat in one swipe. I love the colour too and this is definitely one I would’ve picked.

Nails Inc. Polish in the shade Mayfair Lane (full size) £15

Next we have an unusual product and one I’ve not used before. It’s a Scrubex and it’s like a mini exfoliating wash cloth for your lips. I’ve used lip scrubs before but I’ve not seen anything like this before , it’s cute, definitely works and I think it was a little more gentle than a normal lip scrub.

Glov Scrubex £11.90

Then we have what is a staple of beauty boxes, the sheet mask. This one is from Beauty Pro and it’s a rose infused mask to help with inflammation as well as oily skin and minimising redness. I’ve had a few blemishes lately so this has come at a good time for me. I really enjoy getting different sheet masks and this was no exception. Rose isn’t my favourite scent, but this wasn’t really overpowering so I didn’t mind it. My skin felt lovely afterward too!

Beauty Pro Rose infused sheet mask full size £4.95

Also in this months box is a REN daily moisturiser this has a really nice texture it’s not too heavy for a day cream and it absorbs really well into the skin. It’s designed to help with dehydrated skin which is great for me!

Ren Evercalm Global Protection Cream 15ml sample size

Next is our sneak peek from last month the Avant Pink Orchid Overnight serum. This is a really lovely serum and you only need a tiny bit to apply after you’ve cleansed and toned your face. I am always happy to get Avant products in my beauty boxes as I know the quality is going to be great.

Avant Pink Orchid Restoring Overnight Serum full size £92

Lastly we have a set of lashes from Eyelure. These are the 3/4 length lashes and are really lightweight. I’m excited to try these as I usually always end up trimming false eyelashes and I’m not the best at doing it! I’ve not worn lashes in so long I think I actually might need a practice to apply them!

Eyelure London 3/4 length lashes £5.95

And that’s everything in this months box ! What did you think?

The sneak peek for next month is an ESPA eye moisturiser, I love getting eye creams to try as thats an area I really focus on and ESPA is a gorgeous brand, their products always smell amazing.

Glossybox February 2021

Sing dance love repeat! Or so goes the theme of the February Glossybox with the cutest cassette design to the box, very retro and giving me major flashbacks to buying cassette singles in Our Price… showing my age there !

There are 5 products in this months box which, as it’s February, are aimed at giving you everything you need to be prepped and reading for Valentine’s Day.

First is our sneak peek from last month and it’s an Avant Velvet Perfecting Rose Sugar Lip Scrub. Of course this is to perfect your pout for Valentine’s kisses. Rose is not my favourite scent for skincare but this seems ok and as it’s a scrub I don’t think it will bother me as much. This is a full size and costs £58 to purchase. It’s meant to get rid of any dead skin cells so your lips are prepped and kissable for Valentine’s Day.

Continuing the lip theme is a Steve Laurant total repair lip mask which is £5. This is to give your lips a burst of hydration so perfect for getting over the cold winter weather.

Next we have a product we were meant to get last month but which was delayed due to COVID and the issues at ports. It’s a Rose Gua Sha. This is a skin tool which helps reduce inflammation and promote better circulation. It’s not something I’ve tried before but I will definitely give it a go to see if it works! This is £10 to purchase.

What would a Valentine box be without a nice lip pencil? I’ve had one of these Nudestix lip and cheek pencils before and I loved it. The formula is so creamy and blends brilliantly. This one is more of a balm than the previous one I had which is nice and I love the red shade for Valentine’s Day. This is a full size and costs £20 and I like that it’s multi use as well being for lips and cheeks.

Bubble T Peach Bellini hand cream is our next product and it smells amazing! All of the cold winter weather really takes it’s toll on my skin so this is perfect for sitting next to me in the office so I can keep applying throughout the day. I go through a lot of hand cream and this is a really nice formula. This costs £4.99 and is a full size item.

So in total this months box is worth £97.99 making it great value for money once again!

I have a yearly subscription to Glossybox which costs 11.75 per month including postage and packaging. There are loads of different options if you wanted to sign up from a monthly rolling subscription to 3, 6 and 12 month plans like the one I do. I do have a referral code if you click here which will get you 20% off your first box.

Glossybox January 2021

January’s theme is The Power of Beauty with 6 products to get us kicking off 2021 feeling fresh and showing our natural beauty!

January 2021 Glossybox

So first we have some reusable face pads, designed to replace the need for disposable wipes and cotton pads. I’ve been wanting to try something like this and I was pleasantly surprised. I’d always been put off by the idea of having to wash them and also whether they’d work as well as cotton wool. I used these with makeup remover and they work really well. My only recommendation when washing would be to use a delicates bag so they don’t end up getting lost in the washer! They washed and dried nicely and stayed soft so these are a winner for me.

Daily Reusable Rounds £6.80

Next is a moisturising serum from ECooking perfect for the winter weather. This is a really fine serum and works nicely under my moisturiser. I’ve been using it daily and am seeing my skin looking more moisturised and fresher.

Moisturising serum ECooking £22.50 Deluxe mini size

Saint Luxe Beauty is a brand I’ve had before in a Glossybox, we got some lip liners last year which were nice. This time it’s a brow gel to keep those brows in shape and make them stay put. It’s a really nice clear brow gel, no stickiness when applying and keeps everything in place, a nice addition to the box.

Saint Luxe Brow Gel £16

Mudmasky Undereye Mask is our next product . Mudmasky has been in quite a few Glossybox’s and is a brand I really enjoy using. This is an under eye mask to apply to clean skin and to help with the elasticity of the skin which as I’m sure you know is thinner and more delicate in your under eye area. This is a really nice serum infused mask and my skin felt lovely afterward. They say it takes between 4-7 uses to see improvement so I will look forward to that if it happens! This was a replacement product as Glossybox had a supplier issue but they did inform everyone via email prior to the box being sent.

Mudmasky Undereye Mask £42

Beauty Pro Avocado Infused Sheet Mask is a hydrating and moisturising mask, completely plant based so great for anyone who is wanting to put more skincare of that range into their routine. Beauty Pro products always seem really nice and this is no exception a lovely sheet mask and nice for a little pamper afternoon!

Beauty Pro Avocado Sheet Mask £4.95

Well hand sanitiser is something we are all getting used to using on a regular basis so this Your Sanitiser was a good addition to the box! It’s a perfect handbag size so great for on the go and works well on sensitive skin. It also kills 99.999% of germs so definitely a great find in the current climate!

Your Sanitiser £2.72

If you got this months box what did you think? My favourite is the E Cooking serum and the brow gel but I think it was a really well rounded box for January.

Total value of this months box is £94.97 which is fantastic value for money. The sneak peek for February is an Avant Velvet Perfecting Rose Sugar Lip Scrub to prep our pout for Valentine’s Day!

I have a yearly subscription to Glossybox which costs 11.75 per month including postage and packaging. There are loads of different options if you wanted to sign up from a monthly rolling subscription to 3, 6 and 12 month plans like the one I do. Glossybox November 2020

Makeup and Magic is the theme this month with glitter, shimmer and magic products to keep us looking glam this November. Even though we are locked down in the UK right now it’s a fab time to play around with new looks and I love when my subscription boxes arrive each month!

Makeup and Magic Glossybox November 2020

First we have a beautiful eyeshadow palette from L.A Splash which fits perfectly with the magic theme right down to the packaging. There are 8 shades in the palette 3 shimmers and 5 mattes. They are a lovely autumnal mix of shades and are really highly pigmented. This is my standout product from the box and one I know I will get a lot of use from. This is a full size and it will be perfect for if we ever get back to travelling as it’s also got a little mirror included.

Paired perfectly with the eyeshadow palette is the Spectrum blender brush. I really love getting nice brushes and I’ve built up a good collection now from these boxes! This is perfect for working shadow into the crease of your eye and matches the colour scheme of the palette with gold and black.

Next up is a Que Bella mask and this one is Moonstone Recharge and Restore Glitter Mask. We had one of these in a box previously but I got a gold one so I’m pleased to get a different one. This one is designed to give you radiant glowing skin and help your skin feel brighter. I love the little bits of shimmer in it too makes it feel so cute!

Que Bella Professional Purple Moonstone Glitter Gel Mask £2.49

The next item is a replacement, it was meant to be a Mudmasky Autumn Mask but instead we have been given Generation Clay Ultra-Violet Brightening Purple Clay Mask, worth £19.50. I know I’ve complained about product changes before but I am not bothered about this one, mainly because it’s a similar product and it’s a relatively similar price. It’s a brightening purple clay mask with Australian Davidson plum (a natural super fruit that gently acts like an exfoliating acid), it will transform your appearance by rejuvenating dull, tired skin, and lightening dark circles and pigmentation. Definitely everything I’d want in a face mask!

Generation Clay Brightening Purple Clay Mask £19.50

Lastly a favourite of mine and a regular in beauty boxes Hask Argan Oil Repairing Deep Conditioner. I really love these masks as my hair has a tendency to get really dry and frizzy. The Argan oil one is a favourite, firstly it smells incredible and secondly it only takes 10 minutes to work which means you can apply in the shower. I usually pick these up on my weekly shop as they are available in most supermarkets and pharmacies.

Hask Argan Oil Deep Conditioner £2

Decembers sneak peek is is an Overnight Eye Serum by Symbiosis, eye serums and creams are always a welcome addition for me and I love to try new ones so I am looking forward to that.

Decembers sneak peek worth £102 !

If you got this months box what did you think? My favourite item is definitely the eyeshadow and brush! I will definitely get use out of everything as I really love my face masks and hair masks!

Total value of this months box is £60.98 which is so great and especially as I know I will get so much use out of everything. I said last months box was my favourite of the year but I think this is a hot contender!
