Dreaming of paradise

Glossybox this month had a Dreaming of Paradise theme which was all about summer products to take you from pool to party. In my case it’s more like paddling pool to dinner as I don’t think it’s likely to be going abroad anytime soon. I’m just as happy with a sunny day and a BBQ in the garden to be fair and the weather lately has been so lovely, summer is definitely here!

Glossybox June 2021

First out of the box is Oui Cherie Lip Oil from The Beauty Crop in the shade Sacrebleu! Now, on first glance I was dubious about this as it explains it’s a pH changing lip oil so I wasn’t expecting much to be honest. However I was pleasantly surprised as it actually changed colour as I was applying and gave a really nice tinted berry colour. Now with it being a pH based product it should react differently on every person, it was a fun item to include and it is super moisturising and smells gorgeous.

Oui Cherie Lip Oil from The Beauty Crop £13

Next is a Vitamin C Face Scrub from Nip + Fab. I recently took part in the Glamour Big Beauty Call and Vitamin C is really being touted as the most beneficial and easy to use product for your skin. I’ve introduced the Nip+Fab Vitamin C toner recently (this was in one of my advent calendars) and loved the results so I was excited to try the face scrub. It’s a really nice product lovely smell and gentle on the skin. It’s designed to soften and cleanse as well as exfoliate the skin. I’m going to use this 1-2 times a week to give me a nice glowy skin!

Vitamin C Face Scrub from Nip + Fab

Also in this box is a full size Mitchell and Peach English Leaf Body oil. Last year we got a bath oil from this brand and I find their scents really strong. This oil has changed my mind though as it’s really light and fresh smelling. It’s a blend of citrus, coriander, basil, mint and floral oils, giving it a freshly cut grass scent. Got to say when I read it smells like cut grass I thought that was a bit weird! However I actually really like it, I guess it’ll be one of those marmite things- you’ll either love it or hate it!

Mitchell and Peach English Leaf Body oil £23

Another full size with a Micellar water from a Garnier. Although this is quite a basic product I was really pleased to get this in my box, it’s something I know I will use as I use reusable washable cotton pads and makeup cloths so this is ideal to use with those for more stubborn makeup but still gentle on the skin.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water £1.99

And finally a Christophe Robin Regenerating Hair Mask, I’ve actually had this before in a Lookfantastic box and it was soooo good for my hair! So I’m delighted to get another one, it literally leaves your hair so soft and you only have to leave it on for a few minutes, perfect if you don’t have loads of time. Also you only need a tiny bit to emulsify between your hands and apply so although this pot is small it really does last for ages. For anyone following Curly Girl method, this is an approved product you can use as well.

Christophe Robin Regenerating Mask with Prickly Pear (Deluxe mini size) £10.80

Julys sneak peek is a beautiful looking bronzing powder from KNDR worth £14. The July theme is Beauty Treasures which sounds lovely and I’m looking forward to seeing what products we get next!

I have a yearly subscription to Glossybox which costs 11.75 per month including postage and packaging. There are loads of different options if you wanted to sign up from a monthly rolling subscription to 3, 6 and 12 month plans like the one I do. I do have a referral code if you click here which will get you 20% off your first box.

Elements of Beauty with Lookfantastic

This post contains affiliate links

Just like that we are halfway through the year and, after a ropey start, it seems as though the world is slowly moving again. The start of a new month is marked for me by the arrival of my beauty boxes and Lookfantastic were first out of the gate this time!

The June Elements Lookfantastic box

There are 6 items in the box and this months theme is Elements, chosen in respect of World Environment Day and World Ocean Day which both take place in June.

The first item I came across is the Dr Lipp hydrating lip balm in it’s beautiful red packaging. I’ve used the sweet potato tint last year and really loved it. This one however is formulated with Red Radish pigment and gives a lovely red tint when applied. An ideal product for the summer months when you are relaxing in the garden and don’t want an overdone look.

Dr Lipp Red Radish Tint

Next we have an ESPA 24 hour Eye Moisturiser. I go through a lot of eye creams lately as it’s my main area of concern as I get older! This is lovely, as to be expected from ESPA really nice quality and definitely very hydrating. It has a range of essential oils including Evening primrose and Jojoba to boost the hydrating properties.

ESPA Eye Cream

I’ve had this next product in another beauty box and absolutely loved it so was excited to see it here again. It’s the Rituals, The Ritual of Jing mild body scrub. Firstly this smells amazing with sacred lotus and coconut oil it’s just a dreamy scent. Secondly it’s so incredibly gently on the skin but still manages to buff the dead skin cells and also manages to not dry out the skin at the same time.

Rituals The Ritual of Jing Body Scrub

Next is the So Eco Gentle Facial Buffer, which is meant to remove dead skin from the face. Personally I think it’s a little too harsh for my skin but I would use it on the body instead. So Eco is a really socially responsible company, they endeavour to create products that can be recycled and also have a mission to plant trees which offset their carbon footprint.

So Eco Gentle Facial Buffer

Next up is Philip Kingsleys Finishing Touch styling serum, this is packed in a bio plastic bottle made from sugarcane, making it totally recyclable and it’s also manufactured in a sustainable way. This is for application to lengths and ends of hair prior to blow drying to get a smoother sleeker finish to your hair.

Philip Kingsley Polishing Serum

Lastly we have a Balance Me product, Lightweight Milky Cleanser. This is really effective at removing makeup but also feels really gentle for sensitive skin thanks to the formula. It’s a gentle exfoliant with salicylic acid and willow bark, ideal for a first cleanse in the evening when you want to really get all of your makeup or SPF off.

Balance Me Cleansing Milk

And that’s this months box! The July sneek peek is an Elemis Superfood Glow Priming Moisturiser. Elemis is such a popular brand and so well liked for its formulas so I am looking forward to trying that.

Lookfantastic have a range of subscriptions available here with a rolling subscription where you pay month by month as well as 3, 6 and 12 month subscriptions. They have a fab offer for June where you can receive your first box for just £5 with code JUNEBB5! Valid until 30th June.

I’m currently subscribed on a monthly basis and pay £15 including postage and packaging for my box and always find this a great box with usually a skincare focus as well as some tools like brushes/ sponges ect.

What do you all think ? Anyone want to try it out for £5 for the June box with the above code?

ASOS Giving your hair some TLC !

This month ASOS brought us not one but two gorgeous haircare boxes with goodies for giving your hair some tlc. I waited a little while before posting as I wanted to give a better opinion on the products and there were some great ones!

Both boxes were £12 and were designed to really give your hair some extra care, the difference being one was aimed at curly/ textured hair and the other at dry and damaged hair. Being on a bit of a journey with discovering my wavy bordering on curls at times hair , I picked up both boxes as there were items in both I wanted to try.

Time to treat your hair to some TLC box

First is the box for dry and damaged hair with a new product from Frank Body, the Caffeine Scalp Scrub. I love scalp scrubs as they are great for getting rid of any psoriasis flakes and I usually use the Ouai one which is a sugar based scrub. I’ve used a Frank Body Scrub before and really liked it so was interested to see how it would be as a hair product. Surprisingly doesn’t smell of coffee! It actually has a minty fragrance which is really refreshing on your scalp. I would definitely repurchase as it has helped with the stubborn patches of psoriasis I have at the back of my scalp.

Frank Body Caffeinated Scalp Scrub Full Size £13.95

Next we have a shampoo from Living Proof the PHD triple detox. I found this quite drying on my hair but I would say it’s useful to have in your bathroom to use as a clarifying cleanse if you have any product build up.

Living Proof Triple Detox Shampoo 60ml £10

A sample size from We are Paradoxx of their Repair 3in1 conditioner for ends. This was nice but a pretty small sample so I don’t know that I saw a difference with it that wowed me.

We are Paradoxx Repair 3in1 conditioner sample

I loved this sample of BeautyWorks Argan Oil serum so much, I ordered the full size! First it smells gorgeous and the texture is so light, not sticky at all. It glides into the hair and just takes care of any little frizzy areas or dry sections of hair. I used this when my hair was curly and straight and loved it on both looks.

BeautyWorks Argan Serum 30ml £3.95

Olaplex is an iconic haircare range and they just recently launched the No 8 Hairmask. I absolutely loved this sample, again one I went and bought a full size of. I got two applications out of this tube for my hair and it only needed 10 mins to stay on the hair. It was soft and and smooth, literally it felt amazing. I would highly recommend for anyone with dry heat damaged and coloured hair to give it a go.

Olaplex No 8 Bond Intense Moisture Mask 20ml Sample 100ml Full size £26
Time to give them Curls Some Extra TLC

This second box is aimed at curly/wavy/textured hair and is perfect for me at the moment as I am really trying to look after my hair texture and wear my hair more naturally which is a loose wave/ curl.

So first we have the Olaplex No 3 Hair Perfector, which is full size. The No 3 from Olaplex is to strengthen damaged ends, again I’ve seen a big difference in the look and feel of my hair using this and I’m definitely going to repurchase when this one runs out.

Next is the Shea Moisture Red Palm and Cocoa Pudding which is really aimed at 3A curls and 4C coils so I will pass this along to someone who can make better use of it than me.

The Cantu Avocado Curling Cream I really liked as again when following a curl method on my hair it left it really well moisturised and formed a good wave. This was a full size but I would definitely repurchase.

The last item was from one of my favourite haircare brands Ouai and it’s their Curl Creme. Again this was a really great find and is silicone free and protects the hair as well as adding shine. I loved the texture of this and the way my hair looked afterward. It smells amazing as well and is the same scent as their North Bondi perfume which is a kind of floral scent.

Ouai Curl Creme Sample size Full Size is £25

All in all these boxes offered amazing value for money, with 4 full sized products between them and I’ve found some great new products to help with my hair both in terms of damage and texture.

If you want to try and grab next months box in June, I recommend getting the ASOS app and periodically searching for beauty box, from around the 1st of the month. Sometimes they go live on the 1st other times it’s been around the 6th and there isn’t really ever any notice given. They do tend to be a little delayed when there is a bank holiday as well.

Let the sun shine

Summer is meant to be on the way but if you’re in the UK like me you’ll have been wondering if it’s going to come at all! We’ve had a very typical English spring with lots of April showers but this Glossybox has definitely perked me up with its “Let the Sun Shine” theme. I’ve got to mention the packaging this month which is beautiful and features a foiled box and ombré tissue and looked so pretty when I unwrapped it.

Five items are included this month and four of them are full size which is amazing value. First we have a Minetan Rapid Recovery After Sun Gel which is a deluxe mini size and has the classic after sun ingredient aloe Vera but also Niacinamide to help with any damage caused by the sun and giving an anti inflammatory response.

Deluxe mini 50ml £13.35

Next is one of my favourite makeup brands Ciate London with their Gold definer liner. This is a really beautiful champagne gold colour and glides onto the skin. It has a built in sharpener in the lid which I also love as no fiddling about looking for a sharpener before you’re headed out!

Now we have our sneak peek for last month which is the Rodial Dragons blood eye masks. These are gel eye masks with hyaluronic acid to dry-puff and give you bright eyes. I love eye masks to help with more hydrated Under-eyes so this is perfect for me.

Full size £6

Next is the perfect partner for our eye liner and it’s a Power Foil eyeshadow from Lottie London. I’ve used these before and the coverage for a metallic shadow is just amazing. I only did one swipe in this picture and you can see how pigmented it is. I love this as a summer look especially paired with the gold liner !

Lastly we have a lemonshower gel from Kueshi which is infused with camomile extract as well as lemon. I love the scent of this it smells so fresh and summery. It’s a nice one to include in the box.

Full size £5.70

Overall I really enjoyed this box, the theme has been really well thought out and I’m looking forward to playing with those makeup products! The total value of this months products was £50 – great value for money.

June’s sneak peek is a Nip+Fab Vitamin C scrub which sounds really nice. I just attended the Glamour Big Beauty Call and Vitamin C was talked about a lot by the skincare experts as something pretty much everyone can incorporate into their routine and see brightening effects from.

The box theme for June is “Dreaming of Paradise” I’m definitely excited to see what else will be included! Last June was a really great summer theme with bronzer and some themed face masks so interested to see how they theme it this time. What did you think of Mays box?

I have a yearly subscription to Glossybox which costs 11.75 per month including postage and packaging. There are loads of different options if you wanted to sign up from a monthly rolling subscription to 3, 6 and 12 month plans like the one I do. I do have a referral code if you click here which will get you 20% off your first box.

ASOS The Full Package!

This month ASOS brought us the “full package” with everything you need to get ready for Spring makeup and there are some great goodies in this box!

The Full Package Beauty Box £12 from ASOS

First is a skincare goodie, Charlotte Tilburys Magic Cream. This has the wonder ingredient of the moment hyaluronic acid, rosehip oil and Shea butter to keep your skin hydrated and on point. This is a sample size but enough so that you can get an idea of whether you like it. It’s a nice cream, sinks in really well and it’s quite a rich texture. I personally wouldn’t go back to it purely for the scent, it has a faint rose smell and unfortunately that’s just not a scent I enjoy.

Charlotte’s Magic Cream, Charlotte Tilbury £7.50 for 7ml sample size

Next is a beautiful light setting powder from a Ciate to set makeup and reduce shine. This is their Everyday Vacay Setting Powder and it is so incredibly fine. It also has a coconut scent which is really lovely and definitely makes me think of going on holiday! It’s a translucent powder as well so no worries about matching to your foundation or equally you could wear this without foundation just to reduce shine on your face if you wanted to have a low makeup day. This is a full size of the powder and is £18 to purchase.

Ciate London Everyday Vacay Setting Powder full size £18

Next is my favourite item from this box, a Morphe 9V Pan eyeshadow palette. This palette is called Vintage Rose and is a collection of nude, dusty rose and browns. A lovely neutral palette which you can create a fab range of looks with. It’s a perfect size for travel as well with a nice selection of shimmer, matte and transition shades, definitely one I am enjoying at the moment and easy to use for every day. This is full size and costs £12.

Morphe 9V Pan Vintage Rose Eyeshadow Palette £12

A travel size is included from Benefit with their new They’re Real Magnet Extreme Mascara, which aims to give a false lash effect. I’ve used the original formula of this before and I really liked it. With this one I found that it flakes quite a bit over the course of the day so although it makes my lashes look great unfortunately as I wear contacts flaking all day from my mascara isn’t great for me so I’d give this a thumbs down. It’s a shame as it does really lengthen and lift but I just can’t deal with the flaking!

Benefit They’re Real Magnet Mascara Travel size £13

Our final item is from Sleek Makeup and it’s a clear lipgloss which will would be lovely to wear alone or on top of a favourite lipstick. The thing I do like about this is that the applicator isn’t made of sponge it’s plastic. So I’m thinking you can easily wipe it off after applying over your fave lipstick and avoid getting a dirty looking applicator sponge.

Sleek Lip Volve Gloss, full size £5.99

I absolutely loved this box it is amazing value as it costs just £12 but the value of all of the items was £56.49! My stand out products are the Morphe palette and Ciate Powder and I know I will get a lot of use of them.

What do you all think ? Did any of you manage to get your hands on this box?

If you want to try and grab next months box in May I recommend getting the ASOS app and periodically searching for beauty box, from around the 1st of the month. Sometimes they go live on the 1st other times it’s been around the 6th and there isn’t really ever any notice given.

Woke up in Spring with Glossybox

April has usually brought with it blue skies and some sunshine as well as warmer temperatures. Although we also expect those April showers to occur I don’t think anyone, least of all me, was expecting snow forecasts and hailstones over the past week!

I’m cautiously optimistic that that’s behind us now and we can focus on some warmer weather coming our way! This months Glossybox has the theme of waking up in spring and some lovely little products to change up our makeup!

First of all is a product from Minus 417, Serenity Legend Hydrating Dead Sea Bath Salts. With minerals and salts to help your body retain moisture, Dead Sea salts are renowned for giving you soft smooth skin. I’ve used similar products a lot over the years for my psoriasis I and really like Dead Sea salts for relieving inflammation.

Minus 417 Serenity Legend Dead Sea Bath Salts Deluxe Mini 100g £2.17

Next is our sneak peek from last month, an eyeshadow quad from Sophia and Mabelle. This is a lovely little palette with four everyday shades with matte and shimmers. They’d be great for a simple natural eye look to just give a bit of a boost to your natural eye contour. This is full size and would cost £25 which seems pricy to me for a quad palette. The shadow itself has a nice texture and good pigment but I don’t know that I’d be happy paying £25 for 4 shadows. They are pretty nice when swatched and I can see myself definitely using this.

Another full size product included is the Feel Free Antioxidant Eye Contour cream. This is a lovely light formula and has a citrusy smell which isn’t too strong. Being an eye cream it’s main aim is to hydrate the delicate skin under your eye as well as brighten and balance your skin tone. I love getting eye creams in these boxes as it’s definitely an area I am focused on staying hydrated, it’s so important to use an eye cream to keep those fine lines at bay!

Feel Free Antioxidant Eye Contour Cream £4.77

Next is a liquid blush from DWTN Paris and while I love liquid and cream blush I will admit the colour of this put me off at first. It’s quite an orange toned red but it does blend out nicely. Just not too sure about it suiting my skin tone.

AHAVA mineral shower gel is our last product and this smells really nice. It says it has pomegranate and cherry blossom scent so definitely a nice one for the spring and summer. I think I will keep this one for when we hopefully get away for a little break in the summer, fingers crossed no more lockdowns.

Deluxe mini 25ml worth £4.49

May’s sneak peek is Rodial Dragon Blood eye masks which sounds interesting and the box itself has the theme “Let the sun shine” so I’m excited to see what else will be included! What did you think of this box?

I have a yearly subscription to Glossybox which costs 11.75 per month including postage and packaging. There are loads of different options if you wanted to sign up from a monthly rolling subscription to 3, 6 and 12 month plans like the one I do. I do have a referral code if you click here which will get you 20% off your first box.

Blossom with Lookfantastic this April

This post contains affiliate links.

April’s box from Lookfantastic is giving me major spring vibes with its floral blossom theme, I know florals for spring …. groundbreaking! In all seriousness I love the pink blossom theme it’s perfect for this time of year when things are starting to bloom and feels so appropriate as we move toward a new start and things beginning to open up following the most recent lockdowns.

There are 6 products in this months box and 5 of them are full size. First up we have this gorgeous pale pink cherry blossom coloured nail polish from Nails Inc. Nails Inc is always a winner for me as it’s hands down my go to polish as it’s easy to apply and long lasting . I find the brush in their polish is really good it seems to apply a full coat in one swipe. I love the colour too and this is definitely one I would’ve picked.

Nails Inc. Polish in the shade Mayfair Lane (full size) £15

Next we have an unusual product and one I’ve not used before. It’s a Scrubex and it’s like a mini exfoliating wash cloth for your lips. I’ve used lip scrubs before but I’ve not seen anything like this before , it’s cute, definitely works and I think it was a little more gentle than a normal lip scrub.

Glov Scrubex £11.90

Then we have what is a staple of beauty boxes, the sheet mask. This one is from Beauty Pro and it’s a rose infused mask to help with inflammation as well as oily skin and minimising redness. I’ve had a few blemishes lately so this has come at a good time for me. I really enjoy getting different sheet masks and this was no exception. Rose isn’t my favourite scent, but this wasn’t really overpowering so I didn’t mind it. My skin felt lovely afterward too!

Beauty Pro Rose infused sheet mask full size £4.95

Also in this months box is a REN daily moisturiser this has a really nice texture it’s not too heavy for a day cream and it absorbs really well into the skin. It’s designed to help with dehydrated skin which is great for me!

Ren Evercalm Global Protection Cream 15ml sample size

Next is our sneak peek from last month the Avant Pink Orchid Overnight serum. This is a really lovely serum and you only need a tiny bit to apply after you’ve cleansed and toned your face. I am always happy to get Avant products in my beauty boxes as I know the quality is going to be great.

Avant Pink Orchid Restoring Overnight Serum full size £92

Lastly we have a set of lashes from Eyelure. These are the 3/4 length lashes and are really lightweight. I’m excited to try these as I usually always end up trimming false eyelashes and I’m not the best at doing it! I’ve not worn lashes in so long I think I actually might need a practice to apply them!

Eyelure London 3/4 length lashes £5.95

And that’s everything in this months box ! What did you think?

The sneak peek for next month is an ESPA eye moisturiser, I love getting eye creams to try as thats an area I really focus on and ESPA is a gorgeous brand, their products always smell amazing.

Lookfantastic have a range of subscriptions available here

I’m currently subscribed on a monthly basis and pay £15 inc postage and packaging for my box. The total value of this months box came to

Pretty Pleasures

As we move into March and toward an end to the lockdowns in the UK, fingers crossed! This months Glossybox is all about thinking about the warmer days pastel colours and generally feeling the pretty pleasures of spring!

There are 5 products this month and a makeup heavy box this time which I am pleased about. So let’s dive in and see what we have.

Figs and Rouge Satin Soft Blurring Primer & Finishing Fix is our first item. I love a good primer and having used Figs and Rouge products before I have high hopes for this! This costs £38 to purchase and contains hyaluronic acid, marshmallow root and as the name describes it aims to blur imperfections and minimise shine for a perfect make up base. It also has anti inflammatory properties to reduce breakouts. I love the Figs and Rouge packaging it is so pretty and very millennial pink.

Figs and Rouge Satin Soft Blurring Primer & Finishing Fix £38

Nails Inc is our next treat with a nail polish called Palace Gardens, a really pretty pastel blue grey . Nails Inc has long been one of my favourite brands for nail polish and this one is no exception. Really love the colour and this is one I can see getting a lot of wear out of. This is £11 to purchase.

Nails Inc Palace Gardens £11

Beautaniq Beauty Nourishing Mascara is next and this is not a brand I’ve used before. This has conditioning ingredients like Camellia and Almond Oil to strengthen your lashes. The brush is oversized and designed to grip and coat every lash. I’m coming to the end of my mascara so this was a welcome addition !

Beautaniq Beauty Nourishing Mascara £15.50

The So Eco sponge I actually got in a Lookfantastic box previously but I like to change my sponges regularly so this is a nice addition to the box. They are a really nice sponge and I find they blend really well. Make sure to use your sponge damp so it doesn’t soak up all of your product! These sponges also have a pointed tip, this is great for under your eyes and blending concealer. The best thing about the So Eco brand is they plant a tree for every 100 products sold which is really important to know that they are considering the environment around them.

So Eco complexion sponge

NYX Professional Makeup is one of my faves and this item is different for each subscriber. There was a lucky dip between highlighter, liquid lipstick and regular lipstick. I am so pleased with mine! Mine was a gorgeous hot pink liquid lip so pretty and definitely one I might have chosen myself. I really love NYX lip products so this was a really good choice for me.

NYX Professional soft matte metallic lip creme £6

Next month we have a sneak peek announcement of an eyeshadow palette from a new brand Sophia and Mabelle. No details on colour or anything just yet. Their website details them as a very inclusive brand which is really great to hear. A quote on their website reads

With all skin tones and age ranges in mind, we created this beauty brand where anyone can come and find something that will be a staple in their beauty routine. S+M welcomes all walks of life, because beauty should reflect who you are on the inside, not the outside. We are proud to sample our products on persons of all ages, genders, sexualities, and will continue to strive at being an all-inclusive “made for everyBODY” beauty brand.

I’m looking forward to seeing what the eyeshadow palette is next month!

ASOS 5 Steps of Skincare

This month the ASOS beauty box is one of their best yet with a 5 step skincare routine to get your best glowing skin!

£12 for all of this!

With 5 steps to put a spring in your skincare there’s everything from cleanser to SPF in this box with brands including Elemis, Sunday Riley and Caudalie. So let’s dive in !

So Step 1 is cleanser and this is the Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Energising Cleanser. This turns from a gel into a cream and smells amazing. This is a full size and costs £42 to purchase. Elemis is a fab skincare brand and I’m loving this cleanser.

This is a full size £42

Step 2 is Exfoliator and for this we have an Alpha-H Micro Super Scrub. Alpha-H has been in the ASOS box before and I really like this scrub. It’s super gentle and makes a real difference to the texture of my skin.

Step 3 is Serum and this Oh K! Chok Chok Hydrating Serum mist is one of my favourites so I was really pleased to see this included! It’s packed with Hyaluronic acid and glycerin to give you gorgeous glowing skin.

This is a full size and costs £10

Step 4 is Moisturiser and is brought to us by Sunday Riley with their ICE Ceramide Moisturising Cream with ceramides and vitamin F to keep your skin super hydrated. This is a mini size and it is a really good moisturiser, my skin felt so good! It’s an expensive brand £60 for 50g but worth it if you are struggling with dry skin as this will sort it right out.

Finally we have Step 5 which is SPF from Caudalies face suncare in Factor 50. SPF is a key step in any skincare regimen and definitely something Im much more focused on than I used to be. SPF is key to preventing premature ageing via sun damage and I think we are all much more aware of this now. This is a really nice formula, lightweight and not sticky. Definitely a good everyday and a high factor which is really important.

Well this ASOS box caused lots of controversy with its release date! I’ve noticed the last 2 months that ASOS have been sending influencers the boxes to review on YouTube and this month they added a countdown to their Instagram. I like a lot of other people took it to mean it would be released at that time and it wasn’t. Following a message from ASOS via their Instagram they told everyone it would be released the following week. However they then released it the same evening and lots of people missed out. It’s a shame as it really is a fab box this month.

The box cost just £12 and with two full size products worth £52 it’s not hard to see why it sold out so quickly! Did you manage to grab one? Have you tried any of these products before ? I’d love to hear your comments !

Beauty beyond Boundaries

This months Lookfantastic theme is a great one with International Women’s Day approaching in March 8th.

The theme of Beauty beyond Boundaries is to encourage us to feel beautiful and ensure any flaws we think we have don’t define us. This years International Women’s day theme is Choose to Challenge and I think challenging the way we view and think about ourselves is a great way to celebrate this year. We’ve all at some point been way too hard on ourselves whether it’s our appearance, our work, whether we’ve been a good parent or spouse. But if the last year has taught me anything it’s that I’ve got to be much kinder to myself and give me a break, and I hope you all will too!

First we have AHAVA mineral mud soap which is for face and body and meant to cleanse without stripping your skin of moisture.

Next is a duel ended eyebrow brush from Brushworks. This has a angled brush at one end ideal for applying either cream or powder brow products. The other end is an angled spoolie brush, perfect for brushing through your product and giving the trendy fluffy brow look.

Then we have a Lottie London pencil eyeliner, this is a really nice formula and really glides onto the lid. It also has a sharpener built into the lid so you don’t have to remember to sharpen it.

One of the things I really love about the Lookfantastic box is that they often include different haircare products and this month has a Christophe Robin hair treatment which is ideal for dry or damaged hair. I like that with this you only need to leave it on for 2-3 mins so it’s not a long treatment and can be done while you have a shower.

First Aid Beauty is one of my favourite brands and I’ve actually used this product before! The facial radiance pads are amazing and something I really enjoy using. Basically they are to be used after you cleanse, you can use them daily, and act as a toner brightening and smoothing the skin. The thing I really like about these is they are able to be used on sensitive skin and make my skin look so clear.

Blossom and Bloom is a brand I’ve not used before and this is called their wonder balm. It’s a bit like the Dr Paw Paw original in texture and is a multi-use product so they recommend it for chapped lips and dry hands in particular. It smells amazing, like aromatherapy oils and has lavender, Shea butter and vitamin E. It also has anti-inflammatory properties, and the texture is really rich. I think I will use this at night as I think it will be lovely to apply before bed and have the scent lingering!

And finally the last product in my box is Polaar IceSource Ultra Moisturising Mask. I’ve used the micellar water from the same range and really enjoyed it. This mask is a cooling treatment for helping hydrate and leave skin refreshed. It’s a leave on moisturising mask so again I think this would be a lovely one to apply after a bath or shower in the evening and let work it’s magic overnight.

So this month everything was a mini or deluxe sample aside from the eyebrow brush but we did get 7 items this month, making each item cost just over £2 each which I still find great value.

Lookfantastic have a range of subscriptions available here . I’m currently subscribed on a monthly basis and pay £15 inc postage and packaging for my box. If you got this box what did you think?
